Celebrating a birthday can be fun, but sometimes it is more fun to give than receive! Recent volunteers have been using their birthdays to make an impact and meet needs in the Philippines. Did you know you can use your birthday for a cause?

Lisa Penn, an advisory council member and long-time sponsor, used Facebook fundraising to make her birthday special. She set out to raise money for just one sewing machine for LCP, but thanks to the generosity of her friends, she raised enough for 4 sewing machines — over $900! What a birthday blessing and a huge help!

Mary Allen, sponsor and volunteer, asked friends, church members, and other LCW supporters to donate on behalf of her birthday, and was able to raise over $1000 for LCW! You’ll be surprised at how many people will give to be a blessing for your birthday! There are many ways to use your birthday or other special occasions in your life to help benefit others. Thank you to all who contributed to Lisa and Mary’s fundraisers!

Want to get involved? You can fundraise on Facebook for your birthday and other occasions by:

1 – Navigate to the “Fundraisers” section of Facebook.

2 – Click on “Raise Money” and select “Nonprofit”.

3 – Search Little Children of the World and select it.

4 – Choose a cover photo and write a message about your motivations for raising funds. You can tell us how you want the funds to be applied as a donation to any of our programs!

5 – Set a target goal amount and an end date for the fundraiser, then hit “Create!”
