In October 2020, we sent out our Urgent Needs Annual Appeal. You all have responded in droves to meet these needs, and we are forever grateful! We are especially grateful to everyone who responded by giving food packages with a big thank you to Consuelo Foundation for a grant to buy 132 food packages for needy families during the pandemic. Your gifts mean so much and make such a difference in the lives of these precious children. However, we still have a deficit of $45,000 to meet this year’s budgets. This year has been difficult for everyone, but God is faithful. We are so blessed to have such supportive and generous sponsors and donors!
OUR URGENT NEEDS FOR THE REST OF 2020 INCLUDE:
Residential Shelters
We have 5 residential shelters currently housing 70 children—5 more than our usual maximum do to an influx of children during the pandemic! Wee Women Girls (30) and the Independent Living Girls (11), Robert Hanson Boys (8), Consuelo Boys (16), and Independent Living Boys (5). Thank you to all who have given to sustain these residential shelters this year. We are especially grateful to the Bud Naifeh and the Park Cities Rotary in Dallas, Texas for their recent grant of $3,775 to supply food support to the dorms. We would also like to thank the Hanson family for their constant support of the Robert Hanson Home for Boys. However, these shelters continue to be our most underfunded program. Peace and Faith Program
The Peace and Faith Program is at the core of everything LCW/LCP does. We want to be sure everything we do encourages biblical values formation and encourages a loving and accepting environment of caring communities. Bible Studies and Sunday Worship services have been different this year due to the pandemic, but this program is still very active to ensure these goals are being met. This program serves thousands of people with pastoral care, encouragement, and fosters faith in Jesus through the Gospel. Please consider supporting this URGENT NEED!
Sponsorship
Our ability to go out and advocate for new sponsorships has been severely affected by the travel and gathering restrictions of COVID-19. As such, there are 11 children still on our waiting list from 2019! These children are our highest priority due to their long waiting time. We have not yet begun to get sponsors for those on the list for 2020. Therefore, we will be starting 2021 with all of 2020’s approved children plus those coming in during the new year. Please consider sharing about sponsorship with your friends or family, or inviting us to virtually share about sponsorship, to help us meet this URGENT NEED!
