Home Grown Successes at LCP
This success story is not of one person, but many. Since its foundation in 1987, Little Children of the World has been investing in lives with brilliant potential. They just need an opportunity to succeed. In our 38-year history, we are proud to have thousands that have left our support changed for the better and more equipped to take on the world through access to education.
Some, however, understand the impact that was made on their lives and their families lives and are emboldened to continue to be cycle-breakers as LCP Staff.
To the right, you’ll see 17 faces of LCP employees who are not only local to the Philippines, but they are also home-grown LCP college graduates and success stories in and of themselves. These incredible staff bring a unique understanding of the challenges of poverty as well as the opportunities offered through sponsorship and the other HELPS Programs. Their educational pursuits make them qualified in their field, but their experiences with the program make them experts at being a part of LCP and making a difference.
Currently, 27% of the 62 employees at LCP were once beneficiaries of sponsorship and scholarship. This gives us a strong mix of outside perspectives and home-grown contributors. More graduates have served as staff in the past but have gone on to other opportunities. As many as 40 graduates have served as a staff member at some point. This is not a requirement, but every graduate turned staff member sees it as an opportunity to give back for all they’ve been given and to invest in lives like theirs once were.
We could not build the successful ministry we have now without our home-grown successes who have chosen to be part of our staff. Some have been with us for over 20 years, while others are just joining in their first year on staff, but they all contribute to a team that is changing lives every day. We are blessed to have them on the team.

Today, we cannot just pick one success story to share with you, but we are blessed to celebrate many. Carmenia Benosa, LCP Executive Director touts her team’s excellence saying, “Knowing and working with the team who were once beneficiaries of the program grows the ministry. Having them makes it much easier for me to execute the mission because there is teamwork in accomplishing a common goal. Like me, they have better understanding because they know the feeling of needing support and receiving it. Everything we do is geared towards contributing to a greater impact to serve our constituents. It really makes a difference to have such a strong and understanding team. You can really feel their commitment to the organization and making a difference in more children’s lives.”
