Christmas at LCP
Christmas celebrations start early in the Philippines. Christmas lights and trees can be seen on houses and in malls as early as September, and they are everywhere by October. It is a wonderful time to experience the beauty of the Philippines and its cheerful people.
Preparation for Christmas takes quite a bit of time. LCP prepares over 5000 gifts for its members! 20+ boxes with clothes, shoes, toys, and more shipped from the United States had to be sorted then prepared into bundles to be given as gifts.
LCP kicked off their celebrations in December. Every program had their own Christmas party complete with games and lots of food. A fun time was had by all. It seemed there was at least one party per day for the entire month of December, if not more! Filipinos know how to celebrate, for sure.
The Sunday before Christmas was a special service celebrating the birth of Christ. More than 3000 people gathered on LCP’s grounds to worship in celebration of Christmas. Because generous sponsors and donors gave money and in-kind donations, everyone received gifts that day.
We thank God for sending His son, giving us a reason to celebrate. We are so blessed to have been part of another successful year at LCP. Thank you all for your generosity. Without supporters like you, none of this would be possible!
