Summer 2026 Message from the President

Warm summer greetings from all of us here at Little Children of the World! We are so incredibly blessed by your support.

I am thrilled to report that we exceeded our $40,000 Matching Funds Campaign that wrapped up at the end of May. Through your investment, thousands of lives are being changed each day. We could not do it without your helping hands.

During this season, we are celebrating our incredible college graduates. The class of 2026 was our biggest ever with 34 finishing their college degrees. What an incredible accomplishment! While these degrees represent years of hard work and study, for our students, those degrees represent endless future opportunities and generational change. For many of them, the sponsorship process started more than 10 years ago. You’ve watched them grow into qualified, capable, and confident adults ready to take on the challenges of the world – all because someone like you decided to lend a helping hand all those years ago. What an honor it is for us to send them off well into their next season of life to go build caring, Christian communities wherever life may take them.

And as we celebrate these graduations, we also reflect on the legacy of our founders, especially Dr. Bettie Elwood. When they were envisioning this ministry and building it from the ground up through immense personal sacrifice, I believe it would be difficult to conceive of all their work would build over the past 39 years and all the thousands of lives that have been changed and are being changed. But, because of their faithfulness, this ministry grew and continues to grow for the glory of God and to change lives for the better. It is now our task to carry the mission forward into our next 40 years of history. Certainly, there was rejoicing as Bettie entered heaven for her life well-lived for Jesus.
