During the month of February, we are collecting over 2000 toothbrushes and tubes of toothpaste for all the children in our programs to celebrate Children’s Dental Health Month. We recognize the importance of children’s dental hygiene and want to be sure we are providing proper education and supplies to give these children the best opportunity possible to protect their teeth and overall dental health.
You can help by: - shopping our online Walmart Registry
- collecting dental hygiene items at your church, civic club, or amongst your friends. You can even ask your dentist for donations!
- give to help support the cause. Your funds will be used to purchase toothbrushes and toothpastes!
Every year, children in our programs deal with painful cavities and preventable tooth extractions due to lack of access to proper dental care. We can help prevent this through access to basic dental hygiene items like toothbrushes and toothpastes. Marie Lou Abbott, VP of Sponsorship, identifies children’s dental health as a major issue for our sponsored children. She sites her own experience growing up in the Philippines and having dental struggles herself without access to basic services as one of the reasons she so passionately supports this collection. There are thousands of children who are in LCP’s sphere of influence and care who need this simple support. We hope to give all sponsored children and their siblings, preschool students, handclasp members, and more a toothbrush and toothpaste this year! Never take for granted what the power of a simple gift can be. Arrange a drive with friends to collect dental hygiene items, ask your local dentist for extra stock of toothbrushes, shop our registry or purchase your own items, or give just a few dollars to help with the initiative!
Thank you in advance for supporting Children’s Dental Health Month with LCW!
***Due to a mail delay affecting out most recent publication, this initiative has been extended indefinitely. We are still collecting these items!
