In June 2019, we began a campaign called, Each One Reach One, and we were absolutely stunned by the results! The goal of the campaign is to encourage current sponsors and donors to help us find new sponsors and donors so we can reach our 1000 sponsored children goal by 2024. In the second half of 2019, we gained over 100 new sponsors and several new donors to various programs. We were so thrilled to be able to speak on behalf of LCW at many different churches and civic clubs to be able to share our mission and vision with new people. As of now, we have 825 sponsored children leaving just 175 until we reach our goal of 1000. This was exciting progress!

We are committed to reaching this goal by 2024! However, due to COVID-19 and the cancellation of many gatherings in 2020, we have been unable to travel and share due to the restrictions on travelling and gathering groups of people. As a result, we have not seen much growth in the number of sponsored children so far this year. This is the time when sponsorship means the most to a child and their family. Most people are out of work and with already meager income, they are truly struggling to provide for their families during this trying time.

So, what does this mean for you? How can you help during these unprecedented times?

You, the sponsors and donors, all are still our largest source of advocates. We have a small staff and with only a few of us to spread the word about the work of LCW for the children in the Philippines, and you can help us spread the word about sponsorship and our other programs addressing urgent needs!

You can do this in any way you feel comfortable: A quick post on social media about what sponsorship means to you and your experience with LCW, share our online articles with your friends, or discussing ways to help with your close friends and family. Anything can work! Right now, one on one connections and    social media are the best ways for us to be able to get our message out there due to the restrictions from Coronavirus. However, these things can make a huge difference, because if each one of you just reach one other person to help a child through sponsorship, lives can be completely changed for the better, forever.

Once churches start to reopen and travel begins to resume, please remember LCW and consider inviting us for a sharing event where we can bring case studies of children in need and introduce new people in your church, Sunday school, or civic club to the work we are doing to try to give these children and their families and a hand up to a better future. We are also willing to share at small events in your home. Anything is possible and no effort is too small.

Unfortunately, we know this virus has also affected all of you, your families and friends, and this can make spreading the word difficult, but we appreciate your efforts and of course your unending support, prayers and advocacy for the children in the Philippines. We all look forward to the day this will all end and we can get back to business as usual.
