Aljohn was an exemplary scholar who took to heart the principles of caring communities and education. Now, as a teacher, he is sharing the principles he learned at LCP with the next generation.

“I graduated March 2019 with the degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Music, Arts, Physical Education and Health. Today, I want to share with you the immense power and significance of education in shaping your lives and the world around you. How it changed me to be who I am now. With the help of my LCP scholarship and my generous sponsor/donor, Auntie Ellen Flanagan I might not be as successful as what I am today without them. They supported my education from Grade 1 until I graduated my Bachelor’s Degree in one of the prestigious universities here in Dumaguete.

Right now I am a private school teacher inspiring young minds and hearts to be catalyst of change in this world. Education has a significant role to all hopeful individual who dreamed to be successful citizen in this society. I want to share how education transformed me and developed me with the help of LCP. Education is not just a path to acquiring knowledge; it is a journey that can transform your dreams into reality, fuel your aspirations, and empower you to create a better future for yourselves and generations to come. In a rapidly changing world, education is the compass that guides you through the maze of opportunities and challenges. It equips you with the necessary skills, tools, and understanding to navigate the complexities of life. It opens doors to new possibilities, broadens your horizons, and helps you discover your true passions and talents. Education fosters resilience, adaptability, and the ability to learn from failure, enabling you to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities with determination. Remember that education is not confined to the walls of a classroom. It is a lifelong journey of discovery and growth. Embrace every learning opportunity that comes your way, whether it’s formal education, mentorship, practical experiences, or self-directed learning. I teach youth you have the power to shape the future, and education is your greatest ally. It empowers you to become the architects of change, the champions of progress, and the catalysts for a more inclusive and sustainable world. Cherish the gift of education, for it is a privilege denied to many. Seize it with passion, dedication, and a hunger for excellence. Embrace the challenges along the way, for they are the stepping stones to growth and success. Dream big, set audacious goals, and believe in your ability to achieve them. Above all, remember that education is not solely about personal gain; it is about using your knowledge and skills to serve others and make a positive impact. Be compassionate, empathetic, and actively engaged in your communities. Use education to advocate for causes that matter to you, to uplift others, and to contribute to the greater good. After all, trust God to be the center of everything that you do. For He knows what’s the best ahead of us. I will end this with a verse. Proverbs 4:13-16. ‘Always remember what you have learned. Your education is your life — guard it well. Do not go where evil people go.’” Love, Aljhon C. Baco
